Do you need to brag better?

In her book, BRAG! The Art of Tooting Your Own Horn Without Blowing It, Peggy Klaus takes about the art of bragging. She attacks the bragging myths and give ideas on how to brag successfully. (No, brag isn't a four-letter word!) Klaus has placed the Take-12 Questionnaire from her book on her web site. The 12 questions are about you, your life, career, training, etc., and are means to get you ready to brag -- and tell stories about yourself -- that will be meaningful to those around you. The questions might also be good for a networking exercise or to break the ice at a business event. For example, "What new skills have you learned in the last year?"

Need to practice bragging? Take the list to your next informal networking event and share it with a few people. Take turns answering the questions. You'll learn more about each other and get valuable practice in the art of bragging.
