Notes & Quotes: Roslyn Rasberry

On September 7th, Roslyn Rasberry was the speaker for the Women Business Owners Connection (WBOC) in Syracuse. Rasberry is the owner of Vital Change and is an extraordinary change agent. Her presentation was filled with inspirational words and quotes including:
  • We are truly the stuff that stars are made of.
  • Only shooting stars break the mold.
  • All change begins with awareness… (Deepak Chopra)
  • Know who you are and where you’re going will follow.
One quote from the beginning of her presentation carried through the night. It was from the TV mini-series “Roots” and was said by a father as he introduces his newborn to the night sky:
Behold the only thing greater than yourself.
Roslyn Rasberry believes that we are people with limitless possibilities, who build walls and rules that limit/bound our capabilities. She sought to show us that we can transform ourselves (change) in ways that allow us to expand our horizons and be like the stars…and she succeeded.

Roslyn’s presentation was a perfect choice to kick off the WBOC 2005-2006 season. I recently accepted the position of Marketing Communications Director on WBOC's leadership team so was privy to the program committee's selection of Rosyln as our opening speaker before the actual event.

We are in the process of defining our mission, vision and core values so the organization reflects the voices of our members, designed specifically to meet their emerging needs. Roslyn re-enforced how great an opportunity this is to our members to be part of the new growth as we evolve. She challenged us to think about our paradigms (rules) and break out of them and participate in on a personal level.

It's clear to me that WBOC members are shooting stars. Thanks to Rosyln for helping remind us of this.
